Yup, you read that right... I went to the beach in February! Crazy, right? I've now officially seen and waded in the Mediterranean Sea, which in my opinion is a pretty big deal! =) Last weekend some friends and I decided that we didn't want to let the glorious weather go to waste, so we talked their host sister (Paula) into coming with us to the beach. We were originally going to go to Almuñecar because Paula's family has a beach house there, but when we got to the bus station the bus going there was already full, so we made the spur of the moment decision to head to Motril instead. Of course, none of us had ever been to Motril, so we weren't even sure how we were going to get to the beach from the bus station, but we figured it couldn't be THAT hard! After a gorgeous hour long bus ride we arrived, and luckily for us there was a bus that went directly from the station to the beach. So convenient! The beach was quite pretty, but not the amazing white sands that you usually think of as Mediterranean beaches. We stayed there for a few hours, just taking in the sun, napping, chatting, and goofing around. Us northwesterners were all still in shock that we were sitting in our bathing suits at the beach in February! Of course, it was a little chilly sometimes with the wind, but it probably was similar to the weather we get in Washington in April or early May, so we couldn't complain! Pretty fun!

Bus number one of six for the day!

So excited for the sun and the surf!

Taking in the sun!

I was attacked by the waves when I was wading!
