The rain in Spain does NOT stay mainly in the plain!

Last night my roommate Bree and I got to go see My Fair Lady at this gorgeous theatre in the center of the city. It was part of a film festival that was going on in Granada this past week called "Retroback" that featured all Audrey Hepburn movies. Fun! We were extremely excited to see how they were going to change the moving into Spanish, considering the whole premise is about butchering/learning the English language. Sadly for us, it wasn't in Spanish! There were Spanish subtitles, but that is all... we thought that it was going to be dubbed. We tried our best to keep an eye on the subtitles, and we did learn that they changed the line "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain" to "la lluvia en Sevilla es un maravilla" (Translation: the rain in Sevilla is a marvel, pronounced "la you-via en Seviya es un maraviya." At least it rhymes!) And, by the way, the rain in Spain does NOT stay mainly in the plain! We are getting plenty of it here in the south too! =) Below are some fun pictures of some friends and I posing on the red carpet that they put out down one of the main streets as an advertisement for the film festival. We're just so glamorous!
